Hello my friends, how was everyone's weekend? Let's see, hmm...what did I do...oh yes, now I remember, the craft show! I feel like I've just given birth, except I'm not lying on the couch in a puddle of postpartum hormonal soup. And I'm sleeping soundly through the night, now that it's over and done. I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in a long time! Oh, except for the torrential downpours on Saturday. Mudpuddles, leaky canopy, and soggy tags and bags, my feet sprouting mushrooms, all in all not a pretty sight. So Saturday was pretty much a washout, but Sunday went pretty well. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the sunshine, great music, and the highlight being for me the honking big sausage and pepper sub and bigger than my head fried dough chaser I ate while my smug husband shook his head in disgust while crunching on carrot sticks. My daughters eyes were big as saucers as she hovered under my plate for the shower of powdered sugar that was surely to come. I met some super talented artists and crafts people also, and managed to control myself from blowing all my hard earned profits. I judiciously chose only 3 things to buy. A yummy white tea and ginger soy candle, some pretty earrings and a print. It was fun bartering at the end of Sunday, and here are the goodies that I bought:
Ian Maclaury is such and immense talent, and I was priviledged that he was my neighbor for the weekend. I loved this little seal. Here are some pics of my booth.
And my poor family on the ride back home on Sunday with all the gear stuffed into our little car. I was cracking up the whole time. (we only had a short drive across the street, basically so please don't turn me in for trying to suffocate my child or the lesser crime of not having her buckled in) :
Ok, now for the fun stuff: I have listed all my post-show goodies on ETSY and a few things on EBAY and in celebration i'm going to have a GIVE-A-WAY! Just comment on this post by 10 pm Thursday Sept. 20th and I'll pick a comment via a random number generator and the winner will receive this lovely wristlet!
Good luck everyone, and again, much thanks for the wonderful and encouraging comments on my blog. Now that the prep for the show is done, I will be able to respond better, and I apologize for not keeping up. I appreciate it so much, it makes me so happy! And it's so much fun to be able to link to other people's blogs and receive so much inspiration.
Thanks to my family and friends for coming to see me and a big thanks to my friend Michelle for your help and support and cheering me on and bringing me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers to grace my booth and make it look so pretty and special, you have such and eye! And especially a big thanks to Jeff and Liv, the 2 most special people in my life. Thanks for all your hard work and for hanging with me for the weekend. Love you guys!
me! me! pick me!
I love your stuff.

Congratulations!!! Your boutique looks wonderful. It looks so put together, even the details (i.e. the pink lanterns) are covered. Good job!

You are so very, very welcome!
Why didn't I help you drag stuff home? I didn't realize how much it was once it was piled into the car! Livvy looks like she's drowning!

Congrats on the show. The car picture is cracking me up. The look on your little girl's face! The booth looked beautiful, wish I was there.

Sounds like a job well done! I've done some fairs and know exactly the stress beforehand, the pleasure during, and the relief and lightheadedness after. Your bags are lovely, and I'd sure like to win that wristlet!

Lisa Your boutique looks fabulous!! Love the lanterns and your sign. And it looks like you got the white tent like you wanted.
And even though I have one of your lovely wristlets I could always use another!!
Conratulations,
Karin

Oh, yay!! I'm so glad that you had a good time. My one and only outdoor sale was a laughably bad experience, so I've been anxiously awaiting your report. (I hoped for so much better for you!) And look how pretty your booth was! I somewhat lack the gift of presentation, I'm afraid....
Girl, I will gladly take that wristlet off of your hands lickety-split! :) Come on, lucky random # generator!

Glad things went well - your booth looks wonderful.
I almost started to hyperventilate when I saw you had listed some of the leftovers! I only wish I could buy 2 -- or 3! ; )

congrats on surviving the show... too bad you had to go through the rain... that's a real bummer... but hopefully it was well worth it. I also just got home from my first huge craft show and am totally exhausted. It was a blast though and I know just how you feel!

You are an inspiration! I want to be like you, when I grow up! When will that happen, I'm 34!

Your bags are very beautiful and cheerful looking.
Here in Germany we (me?) don't know and don't use wristlets, so I'm pretty curious to see and touch one.
Hello from Hamburg
