Indulge me a moment while I tap my inner Sarah Jessica....
Just please try to filter out the gym socks indent, and month old pedicure...ok, I have no good reason to own these shoes, other than the fact that they are drop dead gorgeous and came in my size: 4. Long story short: Apparently my feet have shrunk. They were a size 5 for all of my adult life, a challenge in itself to find shoes in that somewhat "normal" range, 99 percent of stores start in size 6. So the universe conspires against me in causing this bizarre physical phenomenon. Not only have they shrunken to a 4 (my left foot shrunken to 3.5, which is so painfully ridiculous I can't even address it at the moment) but they are also "wide". Do you have any idea how hard it is to find size 4 wide? It doesn't exist. Anyway, we have a Nordstroms locally here, and they throw us physical anomalies a bone twice a year with their under/over event, (5 and under/10 and over). So I am forced to spend way more money for shoes than is sane, just so I don't have to raid my 6 yr. olds shoe closet. Well, I bought 2 pairs, a high heel black patent, and these. I love these. They are so girly. When I wear them I feel like the girliest girl from planet girly. ok, enough of that inane chatter.
Aren't these fabrics gorgeous!!! They are not out on the market yet, they are the design creation of the very talented Sandi Henderson of Portabellopixie. It's her new line of fabrics for Michael Miller called Ginger Blossom. Sandi is on her way with her wares to the Quilt Market in Houston Texas, where I'm sure she'll be a huge hit. Sandi sent me a few precious bits to make some bags with, and they are going with her too! I was so excited when she asked me to be a part of her exciting venture. Of course being the dummy head that I am I forgot to takes pictures of them. I'm sure Sandi will have pics posted of the event on her blog, maybe we'll get to glimpse them there afterwards. Good luck Sandi!
What also got done are these 2 new bags that are now in the shop.
Which leads me to the thing that didn't get done: Painting. Well, in all fairness to myself, Sandi has to have these bags by Thursday, having overnighted the fabric to me on Saturday, so there was no time. Thank goodness. I was looking for even the flimsiest excuse not to do it. I think I'll wait till the spring. Yes, that's a better time to paint.
And congrats to Sarah the winner of Marie Claire idees! Enjoy Sarah. Thanks everyone for your sweet comments, i'm sorry I haven't responded, I'm trying to catch up on a bunch of customs, but will be back to responding soon!
Also, I hope all our California friends are safe and out of danger from those terrible wildfires, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Oh my, those shoes are amazing!

Hubba Hubba baby! (that was for the red heals). That's what we call them. Every time I put on girly shoes the little guys hears Daddy say Hubba Hubba. So now he says "mom are you wearing your hubba hubba shoes?" You deserve them. And what a lucky girl to receive some of Sandi's new fabric. Can't wait to see the pix!

Wow! I knew someone once with a size 5 foot, but never smaller. On the bright side though, part of the reason that photo is so fabulous is because you have the perfect size foot for a shoe model! My sister has rather large feet, and she always laments about how my shoes look so much cuter than hers (I wear a 7, she wears a 9).

Kutie kicks!

I drooled over all of the Ginger Blossom fabrics over at Sandi's blog and am so excited to learn you are making bags with them! I am sure they will be delectable. That entire line looks so delish...I can't wait 'till the rest of us can get our mitts on it!

Amen, sister, for you buying both pairs! That is my motto in life -- If the shoe fits then I'll take them in all colors! ;-) Hee hee! I love, love, LOVE shoes! My husband laughs at me when I buy them...he says I get a shoe-shopping "glow". Those shoes are Fabulous with a capital F! And I hope you have the "glow" when you wear them! :-)
I have to admit that I read the #4 twice -- I thought you made a typo. Wow! That is one dainty foot! I can't imagine trying to find a shoe in a 4. I seriously don't think I've EVER seen a shoe in that size. Good luck in your future shoe shopping endeavors!
That is very cool that you were asked to do a line of bags in that fabric! What an honor! I pray to the sewing gods that I become half as talented as you with my sewing skills. Keep up the great work and the posts. I love your blog and always look forward to seeing your creations.

The shoes are gorgeous...but the bags! How do you do it? You are like a wonderful bag-making machine!!! Having made a couple of bags myself (of inferior quality and aesthetic appeal!) I just can't comprehend how you manage to make so many and keep them all looking so perfect and even more beautiful than the last!!!
Huge, huge admiration!!!
