Well, despite my initial misgivings regarding my redecorating aspirations, it seems like progress is being made. It's happening for real. Our bedroom isn't quite finished yet, but I already love it. LOVE IT. Here's a before pic:
Ok, it doesn't look that dreadful in the pic, but trust me, it really was. Lavender walls, not me. Country-ish furniture, not me. Mismatched lamps, not me. Bad furniture arrangement, not me. Grungy-used-to-be-white sheers, not me. You get the idea. Anyway, here is a pic of the room mid-progress:
Ok, this pic doesn't do it justice, but the walls are now a divine shade of taupe. The freshly painted ceiling is snowy white and wonderful. I have a bedskirt for the first time in 14 years of marriage. The bed is now dressed in all white (which I will show in the final reveal. Now I know you are probably thinking, neutral, boring. And normally I am not a neutral kind of girl, but this neutral backdrop is to showcase the curtains, which I have yet to find. I have something in mind that I haven't been able to locate yet. What is it? I'm not sure, but I think it includes hot pink. When I see it I'll know it. Drama baby. So the furniture awaits painting. A divine shade of oyster. Actually Ralph Lauren with a pearlescent glaze. We'll see how it comes out. I hope oyster. Kind of vintagy-Hollywood-glam. That's the look I'm going for. Going to find some night stands this weekend. Black. Also glass or lucite lamps, kind of like this one:
But with a colorful shade. Stay tuned.
